Most web professionals already work with partner organizations to some degree; this includes hosters, and providers of billing automation, infrastructure, server management, website builder, and online marketing software solutions. Together, these partners create the web enablement ecosystem. WebPros serves as both an entry point into, and a steward of this ecosystem, allowing those operating within it to harness trusted technologies to scale their businesses easily and securely.
Ensuring the integrity of underlying infrastructure
The success and health of the web enablement ecosystem is underpinned by solid technology that helps partners to run successful, robust, and efficient businesses. The WebPros portfolio adds several useful services into the ecosystem to help web professionals achieve this, including automation tools for monitoring servers, site quality, and performance (via cPanel and Plesk), as well as enhanced supportability tools for mail troubleshooting and database recovery to help providers maintain productivity and streamline their workflows.
Beyond reliability and efficiency, end-customer success is especially dependent on the integrity of the underlying infrastructure and robust security is therefore crucial to the ecosystem’s success. Here, harnessing the breadth of the ecosystem is a distinct advantage, allowing web professionals to benefit from security solutions that are stress-tested, over time, across geographies from over 130M users.
Security intelligence is shared throughout this network, with WebPros bringing together security intelligence from 900k system administrators (supporting more than 40m users) and using their insights on vulnerabilities to safeguard the network as a whole. 556 common vulnerability exposure updates were implemented throughout the network in 2024.
WebPros can further support ecosystem partners by helping them to address end-of-life (EOL) scenarios, which can cause unintentional security vulnerabilities for products running on legacy operating systems that are no longer supported by their respective vendors. These scenarios can be difficult to manage, requiring multiple patches to maintain the system while a migration plan is put in place; in the worst-case scenario, a customer environment can become completely inoperable and cause the customer to churn.
WebPros are supporting web professionals by alleviating some of the burden of EOL, providing migration paths, in-place upgrades and extended lifecycle support to keep websites secure and running smoothly while migration plans are put into action. WebPros can also provide migration tooling to ease the transition to a more modern operating system and minimise disruption to their end-customers.
Building resilience over time
The web enablement ecosystem’s shared intelligence model means that its resilience grows over time. As more partners join the ecosystem, productivity tools become more enhanced, automation becomes prevalent, and security knowledge is accumulated and dispersed throughout the network.
WebPros is helping to support, enable and develop the ecosystem by investing in security programs and participating in governance initiatives on the ecosystem’s behalf. This includes a Bug Bounty program, where 118 researchers are working to discover partner software vulnerabilities, and participation in the i2Coalition which will help to inform future internet governance and policy. WebPros is also helping partners to introduce new security features, such as solutions for ‘software bill of materials’, which are used to identify potential vulnerabilities in software by revealing its components and their versions.
By staying at the forefront of technological advancements, anticipating industry needs, and investing in the resilience of the web enablement ecosystem, WebPros is ensuring that web professionals have the right technology in place to keep delivering the best-possible experience to their customers.
