The hosting industry is constantly evolving. Rising infrastructure costs, intensifying competition, changing customer expectations, and new technologies are shaping how hosting providers operate and grow.
Last year, WebPros and CloudLinux jointly conducted the Web Hosting Trends Survey, bringing together insights from 446 hosting providers to understand the opportunities and pressures shaping their businesses. The findings revealed a clear contradiction. While 65% of providers reported revenue growth in 2025, 29% identified price competition from low-cost providers and 28% cited rising costs, including energy, software licenses, and hardware, as the biggest threats to profitability. Growth was happening, but protecting profit remained a challenge.
Building on these findings, WebPros and CloudLinux are once again inviting hosting providers to take part in the 2027 Web Hosting Trends Survey and share the challenges they face, the opportunities they see, and the strategies they’re pursuing in the year to come.

What does the 2027 Web Hosting Trends Survey explore?
The 2027 survey explores three key areas:
- Growth and profitability: Where do hosting providers see the biggest growth opportunities in 2027? And what pressures are making profitability harder to maintain? Your responses will help highlight the opportunities providers are pursuing and the challenges they need to navigate.
- Add-on services and upsells: As hosting providers look for new revenue opportunities, which additional services are driving results? The survey looks at how providers package and sell add-ons today and which services they plan to introduce next.
- AI adoption: We want to understand how hosting providers are using AI, from helping customers build applications to improving security and support.
